    Why the Paras always win

Posted by Mark 23 Jun 2007

The photo is of Kenny, a member of 3 Para during the Falklands War, with the Colonel in Chief of the Parachute Regiment at the V-VIP reception after the Falklands Parade on the 17th June. Kenny tells me: "My comment to Charles was: Sir, we were on the same para course in 1978, my aircraft flew ahead of yours and if any of the lads broke anything or winds were too high then your's and Prince Andrew's aircraft aborted. I also informed him that my call sign down south was 11A and I was point section between Mount Estancia and Murrell River. Charles informed me that a reunion is to be organised probably next year as it will have been 30 years (since he earned his 'wings')." So why do I suggest this is why the Paras always win? Because Kenny wasn't on the guest list - he crashed the party. What nerve, what style, nice one Kenny!
