    Fabulous news for Falklands veterans

Posted by Mark 12 Jun 2007

The Big Lottery Fund has just announced it is giving Combat Stress £404,000 to help veterans suffering from PTSD to return to the Falkland Islands in November.

Around 200 veterans - some with carers - and relatives will fly down in a privately chartered aircraft to spend a week on the Islands touring battlefields and coming to terms with their losses and experiences. Combat Stress, the charity that specialises in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, was founded in 1919 and is currently helping over 7,000 servicemen and women. The last Pilgrimage to the Falklands was in 2002.
